What a Conex Box Is
A conex box is a steel cargo container built to ISO standards for ocean shipping. They are made from 14-gauge corten (weathering) steel — a specific alloy that resists rust and weather without painting or maintenance. The corner castings, floor structure, side walls, and roof are all welded steel. Doors at one end (or both ends, for double-door units) seal with rubber gaskets and lock with cam bars.
Built to survive ocean crossings stacked nine high in saltwater spray, a conex box is one of the most durable storage structures available. Even used conex boxes 15 years old typically have decades of useful life left on dry land with zero maintenance.

- Used Wind & Watertight — about 15 years old, dents and surface rust expected, but dry and secure. The most affordable grade.
- Used Cargo Grade — better cosmetic condition than WWT, less patching, certifiable for shipping.
- New One-Trip — built new in China, shipped one time with cargo, then sold here. Excellent condition with only minor surface marks possible.
