Shipping containers are sold in three main condition grades. Each grade is a different balance of cosmetics, price, and remaining lifespan. Here is what to expect from each.
Wind & Watertight (WWT)
Wind and Watertight grade containers are about 15 years old on average. You should expect dents, patches, and rust on this grade container. They do not have any holes in them and are dry, secure, and functional for ground level storage.
WWT is the most affordable option for buyers who need reliable, weatherproof storage without paying for cosmetics. Common uses include farm storage, job site tool storage, and general inventory.
Cargo Grade
Cargo Grade containers are graded to a higher standard. This grade has less patching, dents, and rust than wind and watertight containers and can be certified and inspected for an additional fee for shipping cargo.
Choose cargo grade when you want a better-looking container or when you may need cargo certification for shipping goods.
One-Trip New
One-Trip new condition containers are built new in China and shipped one time with cargo in them to the USA. The freight is unloaded and they are made available for sale. You can expect minor dings or dents, surface scratches, and possibly marks on the floor from forklift loading. This grade container is in excellent condition.
One-trip containers are the top choice for modifications, container homes, retail builds, and any project where condition and appearance matter.
